Video Producer. Video Editor. Motion Graphics Animator

About Me

Hi there, I'm Moneca! I'm 21 years old and I'm from Vancouver, WA/Portland, OR. My passion is all about creating cinematic video content and powerful story-telling that benefits you whether for memories or promotions. There's nothing I love more than working with a client to come up with a strong idea for a video, and being able to work through every stage of the project until it's finished.

If I'm not out filming and editing, I'm out traveling, getting food, and going on spontaneous adventures to who knows where.

So, what are you waiting for? Let's go produce a video!

Therefore, I approach every project with creativity, enthusiasm, and passionCheck out a few of my work below!

I worked with Friends of the Carpenter for two summers and this was the first video that I did for them. Even though filming and editing the video was a pleasure, the most memorable part of the whole project that I’ll never forget was meeting the vulnerable members of our community and hearing their stories. That’s one of my favorite things about videography: it brings the magic of connecting people together.

For this video, I assisted Steve, Bridgeview Resource Center’s video producer, with the filming. I learned more about how to set up a 4K Panasonic camera, lavalier microphones, lighting equipment, and a backdrop. Meeting and filming the student nurses was also one of the best parts of the project. It’s always a blast talking to the talents of the video (and letting them see the hilarious bloopers of themselves after the shoot). Then, after we finished filming, I took the SD card to edit at home before sending back the final version to Steve. What I learned from this project was how it’s like to film and edit a professional video such as using a slate, a shot list, and a script.

I took a Virtual Reality class during my sophomore year of college and my role in the team was to help create a trailer for our Rock Monster VR game (that three members from our team modeled and coded on their own!). I love playing video games so I was super thrilled throughout this whole project. I absolutely loved every step of the process: from watching video game trailers after class, teaching myself how to successfully operate a camera in a virtual environment in Unity, to editing the whole trailer together and adding motion graphics and audio. Seeing the final product, the trailer and the game itself, that my team and I made in just four months was mind-blowing and one of my proudest moments I had in college.

I worked for Dr. Dene Grigar in her lab on the WSU-Vancouver campus for two years, and this was one of the videos that I produced for her. It’s one of my favorites because I also got to work with another lab colleague, Mariah, and we got to combine our video and audio skills together to produce a video that talks about and shows off the Electronic Literature Lab. This trailer plays at the start of every traversal livestream that Dr. Grigar has every other Friday and it was an honor to be able to film and edit this trailer for her and the lab.
